This one is a bit of a trip down memory lane: our staff photographer stumbled on some old pictures of ex-Blind Passengers and Songs of Lemuria frontman Nik Page while doing some cleaning up of his hard-drive. Nik Page is a long time friend of The Black Angel, and we are great fans of his music and the diversity of his creative work. Blind Passengers were a huge influence on so many of the current electro bands out there, and songs like Absurdistan are classic hymns.
Inaugural concert in honor of new Black Angel street shop
So it was a great honor to have him perform at our inaugural party for the new Black Angel street store in Ettelbrück, our second retail shop in Luxembourg, which we opened in 2004. We had Nik come over to the shop for a signing session with fans and customers, prior to heading to the Shinyz Club, where he and his Sacrifight Army (+ special guest Dirk Scheuber of Project Pitchfork) performed for a packed floor with over 250 of our customers and fans who were invited to the event. It was a very special night for us all, especially as we were in fear the that powerful light-show and strobes that Nik Page had brought along would blow out the fuses like it did during rehearsal, but fortunately it didn't and everybody had a great time, enjoying a best of classic hits and new songs from the Sinmachine album.
So please enjoy some never before seen backstage footage of Nik Page and his Sacrifight crew browsing our gothic clothing at the new store and getting some new stage outfits (like the skull top by Omen, worn by both Nik and Jamie), some rehearsal shenanigans and of course some photos of the show itself.
