MANIC MOVEMENT : RUSSIANS

!

Check out this amazing band and our gothic clothing in their latest video clip

For all our friends from the US (and of course Canada too), for all you guys and girls who are into dark music and always on the hunt for new and exciting bands, we are proud to draw your focus on Manic Movement from Belgium, a goth metal band that combines epic guitars, melodic keyboards and heavenly voices to create a really catchy blend of music. The video is for the song “Russians”, from the forthcoming album “Dark Glitter” – to be released soon.

Watch the video clip "Russians" by Manic Movement (feat. gothic clothing by The Black Angel).

Careful eyes have probably noticed that the wicked outfits worn by the guys in this video look a bit familiar - well you're right, it's men's clothing sold by your favorite gothic shop on the web - hopefully : us, your humble The Black Angel & crew. That's right, Ladies and Gentlemen, by yours truly - so if you like what the band wears, this is your shot at getting the same cool goth clothes seen in this video (and many more), like the unique looking retro-military Erlkönig coat.

Special thanks to: Ollie & Claire, Filip, Virginia, Fre, Jeremy and Phil.

BLACKFIELD FESTIVAL 2008

!

Great bands, wonderful people and gothic clothing

This year’s edition of Waregem’s Gothic Festival was headlined by some of the greatest goth and electro acts you could wish for, namely Fields of the Nephilim and VNV Nation. Both were incredible and amazing, especially Fields, seeing them live is always a special moment. But another force is to be reckoned with, Combichrist, who definitely are contenders to the EBM throne. Such an intense and punishing show, both by frontman Andy Laplegua and his bandmates (what a drummer!), an absolute festival highlight!

Talking about highlights, our cyberlox and cyber goggles turned out to be a big success, and we quickly sold out all of them. So the designers at Strawberry Skull have since been very busy working on new pairs for us to restock, after all, we are famous for being a really fast purveyor of gothic clothing, one of the fastest on the web, and we want it to stay this way. So don’t worry folks, the most popular industrial accessories ever are available again and can ship right away. Yay!

But enough of that for now, back to the original topic, the festival in Waregem, we will of course post pictures soon, our staff photographer was equipped with photo pass and camera, and shot some great photos during the Fields set, which we will of course share with you all very soon. So keep an eye on our gallery.

AMPHI FESTIVAL 2008

!

Great bands, wonderful people and gothic clothing

Our team is back from the Amphi Festival in Cologne (Germany), two days filled with lots of music, people and providing new outfits. Our big stand was located in front of the main stage, so while we were busy helping the crowd in choosing from our newest collection of gothic clothing, we could still hear and enjoy the performances of the biggest names in gothic music.

There were too many great bands to name them all, but our personal favorite was probably Das Ich, who proved that electronic music does not have to be limited to two guys with keyboards – this band takes performance to the next level, and Stefan Ackerman has to be one of the best frontmen ever. Whoever witnessed his wild and impish stage act will never forget it.

But not only the music was great, the crowd was one of the best ever, and many fun people came and visited our stand, with lots of interesting conversations and chatting going on while trying on clothes, between customers and the team dispatched from our gothic shop – no wonder we had so many volunteers to go! It was a really great festival, and we are already looking forward to next years edition – hope to see you there!
