PVC

PVC is the abbreviation for Polyvinyl chloride, a thermoplastic polymer often used as fabric for clothes in the gothic and fetish scene. PVC clothing is usually jet-black in color with a skin-tight fit, and is often mistaken for similar materials like shiny patent leather, and even latex sometimes.

Many fetish outfits like the ever popular dominatrix look rely on PVC clothes, like catsuits, miniskirts and trousers.

While PVC has been a fixture of the gothic scene for a long long time, blockbuster movie Matrix made the public masses aware of this 'insider' fabric, which has since conquered couture fashion too.
