We must sheepishly admit that we had so much fun at the 2006 edition of the Wave Gotik Treffen, we were so busy having a good time with old friends and new acquaintances, that we completely forgot to shoot any photos. Luckily our good friend Grill-Bill agreed to share some of his impressions, so go ahead and enjoy his photos.

13.05 - 16.05 2005 - Leipzig, Germany

The Wave Gotik Treffen is about more than “just” music and bands - although there were nearly 180 of them this year. It is a gathering, a time of the year when you meet friends and many familiar faces, who faithfully make the pilgrimage to Leipzig every year. It is the relaxed atmosphere in Leipzig that makes this event so special. And the unique and creative outfits too - no other event is so stylish, so fancy, so over-the-top.

28.05 - 31.05 2004 - Leipzig, Germany

The Wave Gotik Treffen is not only the biggest gothic event in Europe, and probably worldwide, it just keeps getting bigger and bigger. This year was no exception, more bands, more locations, more things to do, movies, LARP, recitals, actually you could spend the full three days at the WGT without watching a single band perform and still be busy all the time.

17.04 - 20.04 2002 - Leipzig, Germany

The Wave Gotik Treffen is more than just a gothic festival, it is THE gothic festival - mainly because it is so very different from all other festivals. It’s appeal does not reside in the big names of the dark scene that will play live on stage, rather it is the special mood and relax atmosphere during these three days that make it unique. Not limited to a single site, the WGT takes place all over the city of Leipzig, gathering over 20,000 people and 150-180 bands every year. While this is not the first WGT we attended, it is the first time we managed to think about taking pictures.
